Pastoral Care & Wellbeing – Ramadan Programs

Ramadan is a very special time full of amazing opportunities for Muslims. The experience of fasting and the breaking of fast with an iftar dinner fills our hearts and souls with much joy. Being able to observe Ramadan as a whole community, free from COVID-19 related restrictions, has been a true blessing for us at Sirius College this year. We had missed the collective dinner tables at iftar times as well as the prayers recited and presented altogether.

The Eastmedows campus was as busy as a beehive during Ramadan with students making the most of the holy month. PCW after-school subjects on Tuesdays were extended to include an iftar dinner with our students’ mothers invited to some of these iftars throughout the month to share the beautiful spirit of this time. Senior students were invited to year level iftar dinners and Year 7 and 10 Peer Support students also met weekly for their programs which included iftar dinners. The highlight of all these gatherings was the Mothers Celebration Iftar organised by year 12 students to raise awareness for and funds toward their project.

The Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Team would like to thank all our students and their parents for their participation in these programs. We look forward to holding many more rewarding and joyous programs in the future.
